Images unearthed are not merely random, they are metaphor.
I am not creating something else.
I am revealing who I am.
Catherine Moore

"Carl Jung wrote that in the process of giving shape to archetypal images, we find our way back to our deepest, truest selves.  In the course of manifesting what we hold within, of transforming spirit and ideas into matter and language,
we experience the holy delight of creation.  And as we give form to spirit, so we are informed by it and healed by it.
As we express Divine through art, so do we experience the Divine within.

Photography, I discovered, is as much about seeing inside ourselves as it is about looking out at the world.
All creative activity joins spirit to matter and so can transform.  But photography is special.
It is all about focus and attention, image and shadow, figure and ground, darkness and light".
Jan Phillips author of "God is at Eye Level: Photography as a Healing Art"

There is so much to see in the world around us.  Every day brings new images, ones that have never been seen before ... the light, the clouds, the shadows and the reflections have never been exactly as they are now.  To capture this world I always have a camera close at hand and keep my senses open to my surroundings so that I may gather images of patterns, angles, juxtapositions or the small-at-hand that I might otherwise pass.   The small, insignificant details I photograph often offer me answers to the many questions I have about life.

So that others interested in photography can share their work I have started a yahoogroup called Photo Art Journals dedicated to photography and quotations.  If you would like to find out more about these Photo Art Journals email me at and I will send you a yahoogroup invitation to join the group.
