| Nature
Journal Monday 3 November (Part I) - morning (10am-1pm) or evening class (6pm-9pm) (Cost $35) Monday 17 November (Part II) - morning (10am-1pm) or evening class (6pm-9pm)(Cost $35)  Using old book covers and textured backgrounds we will create a nature themed journal using paper, twigs, leaves. You will learn how to sand old photos to create the textured backgrounds which make a perfect canvas for nature. Using quotations and words that remind you of the healing power of nature you will create your own unique pages. I will supply the book, the photos to sand, feathers, twigs, leaves, bird nest for the cover and nature images on transparencies, but I encourage you to bring you own nature photographs or items you find in nature to create a book that shows your unique view of the natural world. |

| Exploring
Creativity with SoulCollage®
and Nine Modern Day Muses (and a Bodyguard) Using the book "Nine Modern Day Muses (and a Bodyguard)" by Jill Badonsky as our guide we will spend ten weeks exploring creativity inspired by the Muses (such as Spills, the "Muse of Practice, Process and Imperfection" and Audacity, the "Muse of Courage and Uninhibited Uniqueness"). We will create a SoulCollage card for each of our Muses (and our Bodyguard!) and explore our creative soul through journal exercises and discussion. Each week will focus on one of the Muses. It is not necessary to attend every class to benefit from the advice of these inspiring Muses. Wednesday mornings from 10:00am to 12:30pm : Week 1: September 3 - Introduction and Arnold, the Bodyguard Week 2: September 10 - Aha-prodite, the Muse of Paying Attention, Passion & Possibilities Week 3: September 17 - Albert, the Muse of Imagination and Innovation Week 4: September 24 - Bea Silly, the Muse of Play, Laughter & Dance Week 5: October 1 - Muse Song, the Muse of Nurturing, Encouragement & Good Company Week 6: October 8 - Spills, the Muse of Practice, Process & Imperfection Week 7: October 29 - Audacity, the Muse of Courage & Uninhibited Uniqueness Week 8: November 5 - Lull, the Muse of Pause, Diversion and Gratitude Week 9: November 12 - Shadow, the Muse of Gifts of the Dark Side Week 10: November 19 - Marge, the Muse of Okay-Now-Let's-Get-Started Cost: $30 per individual class A new series in this class will be starting in January. WORKSHOPS in 2009 Altar Books
Paper Bag Books  Using different kinds of brown paper bags we will create interesting journals with hidden pockets. We will cover the pages with interesting papers to make one-of-a-kind journals. All supplies provided. Exploring Creativity through Photography
 When you look at life "through the camera's eye", it helps you to appreciate the things you normally would have over looked. It helps to slow you down and enjoy life for the moment. Scott Rhodes In this series of three classes we explore what it means to be a photographer and different ways to use the photographs we make so that they are shared and seen by others. We also explore ideas to improve the images we create and suggest ways to photograph with new eyes. We talk about the elements of design and color, and experiment with in class projects as well as create a collaborative photo art journal which includes photographs we have all taken. Any kind of digital camera may be used in class. Exploring SoulCollage® Saturday, 25th October from 10:00am to 4:00pm SoulCollage is a gentle, playful and often joyful way of exploring your life and your deep self. Using images from magazines, individuals create their own unique deck of cards, where each card represents a different aspect of themselves. There is a deeper level of knowing that is accessed through images. The process combines image, words, intuition, and synchronicity into a unique creative and artistic process that anyone can do. It requires no special skills, but can often produce images and insights that are surprising and full of depth and meaning. SoulCollage works directly with the language of symbols, images and archetypes. In this workshop you will make a number of your very own SoulCollage cards and learn to use the cards for self-discovery. All the supplies you need to create your cards are provided as well as tea and a quiet, inspiring and creative environment. Visualize your Intentions  Plato said: "The Soul thinks in images." In this workshop you will create a set of collages with words so that you have a visual dream board of your intentions for living the life you want for yourself. You can then display your visual dream board in a 12"x12" frame and hang it in a space you pass often so that you have a constant visual reminder of those things you wish to attract into your life. |
